For the Love of Ringette

The drive down the highway, the excitement of going there...
My heart is pumping as if it were a 12 cylinder engine...
I speed to get there on time...even though, I'm going to be the first...
I arive at the place, get out of the car, open my trunk, and take out my bag.
Memories suddenly spew through my mind...
I grab my stick and march proudly to the doorway...
I open the door, and I relieve a big SIGH...Oh, finally...
I walk down the hallway, proudly...provoked with energy...
And into the dressing room, I see that no one is there...I don't really care.
I dump out my bag, all over the floor..my gear..SPLAT..I smile...
My eyes widen as I put on my gear...
Then I hear voices coming from the hallway...I know my team mates are near!
Waiting to see their faces and wanting to know how their week has gone...
We chat, giggle, gossip, and it takes forever to get ready..Some of us are ALWAYS last..
But, I'm out there the first...I'm all suited up, my heart still pounding..
I wait till the zamboni finishes the ice, as soon as the doors close...IM ON IT!
I can smell the ice, feel the breeze, and I hear nothing...
Just my blades digging into the ice and my breath as I speed around the rink...at full force...
The rings come out...now the best part..
My team mates decide they want to join me...we all have the greatest time...
Win or lose, it doesn't matter...we are still a team and it's all about fun anyways!
When the end comes...it's a bummer...no one wants to leave..
We quietly get undressed, and say our goodbyes..
and wait anxiously for the next game...
